Común Root is a cultural platform based in Oaxaca, Mexico. We produce documentary content, host intimate dinners, and create chef experiences that explore food, music, art, and culture at the source.
We go to the places where traditions are still alive. We meet the people who carry them. We bring what we find back to the table.
The philosophy is simple: recognition, not fusion. We don't reinterpret. We go where we're invited, we listen, and we share what we learn.
Común Root es una plataforma cultural con base en Oaxaca, México. Producimos contenido documental, organizamos cenas íntimas y creamos experiencias culinarias que exploran la comida, la música, el arte y la cultura en su origen.
Vamos a los lugares donde las tradiciones siguen vivas. Conocemos a las personas que las mantienen. Llevamos lo que encontramos de vuelta a la mesa.

The Platform
Común Root operates through three arms, each built to tell a different part of the story.
Rooted is the content and adventure arm. Chef-led journeys along the Oaxacan coast and beyond, documented as short-form films. La Brújula is how chefs and travelers tell us what moves them. We build the trip around what they want to explore.
The Exchange is the chef residency program. Two chefs from distinct culinary traditions cook alongside each other for two days. Markets, kitchens, and a shared table. The exchange is the star, not the individual.
La Sobremesa is the dinner experience. Intimate gatherings at our home in Oaxaca City. Family style. Shared plates. Live music. Art. Every course tied to a journey. Every night limited to twelve guests.

Común Root opera a través de tres brazos, cada uno construido para contar una parte diferente de la historia.
Rooted es el brazo de contenido y aventura. Viajes liderados por chefs a lo largo de la costa oaxaqueña y más allá, documentados como cortometrajes. La Brújula es cómo los chefs y viajeros nos dicen qué los mueve.
The Exchange es el programa de residencia para chefs. Dos chefs de tradiciones culinarias distintas cocinan juntos durante dos días. Mercados, cocinas y una mesa compartida.
La Sobremesa es la experiencia de cena. Reuniones íntimas en nuestra casa en Oaxaca. Estilo familiar. Platos compartidos. Música en vivo. Arte. Cada plato conectado a un viaje. Cada noche limitada a doce invitados.
